Dog abandoned in hot garage

Sarasota.  Sampson, a Golden Retriever, is lucky to be alive after being abandoned for five days with no food and little water. When Sampson was found by Sarasota Sherriff’s Deputies, he was in the full throes of a siezure.

Sampson was taken to a vet, who concluded that Sampson had been subjected to long term neglect, as he was malnourished, anaemic, had heartworm and was malnourished. Sampson’s owner was later tracked down and has been charged with cruelty to animals and abandonment of animals.

We hear at Newzhoundz hope that Sampson is able to make a full recovery after his ordeal, and is able to move on to a loving and caring environment in the near future.  Read story…

I had the pleasure of meeting “Sam” today (they’ve dropped the Sampson name) and he is a beautiful boy. His foster dad, a local expert in Golden Retriever rescue, along with area medical professionals, is giving him what he needs and Sam is on the road to a healthier, happier life. We are all hoping he will have full recovery and enjoy many more years. He is small and has such a sweet face and disposition.
