Helloooo fur fans.  I had a fantastic Christmas, thanks for asking.  I managed to get the best present ever and the best piece of chicken breast available for Christmas lunch.  I have to say I enjoyed every morsel and the look on Angus dog’s face when I pipped him at the post for the best bits.  You have to be in the right place at the right time around here – and I always am, although everybody is now starting to look at my waistline … and not in a good way.  I’ve heard rumours of going for.. gasp.. walks and doing it more than once a week.  Shock and horror fur fans, I don’t know if my delicate disposition can take the trauma of it all.

Stay tuned for my workout update in the near future.. if I survive it all.

Helloooo fur fans.  It’s been absolutely ages since I have graced these pages.  Mum has been working and it has been impossible to get a look in around here.

Where do I begin?  It’s been a hectic year and with Christmas just around the corner, I am in a flurry to be ready for the relatives when we go meeting and greeting off the island for Christmas nibblies and a chicken or two.  I have to say I am looking forward to it.

On a really sad note, my friend and older statesman furboy, Dylan, passed away and went to the rainbow 3 November 2012.  I am very sad at the moment and I am looking for him everywhere, even though I know he is no longer on this earth with me.

I shall miss him forever.  Rest in peace, my friend Dylan.

Helloooo fur fans! How lovely it is to be here. I didn’t think I would be feeling as good as I am right now, as I have been quite ill recently. Mum is starting to call me things like ‘the million dollar dog’ and the more derogatory ‘lemon.’ I certainly don’t think I’m a lemon, although my bits and pieces have been a little defective lately.

Bladder problems, we girls have them now and again, but I’ve been getting them BIG time. The vet bill for me so far is well over the $3,000 mark, but of course, I am worth every cent. I keep hearing Mum say ‘thank god for the dog insurance.’ Thank god she has me to love her, is all I can say to that.

I’m here today to tout the effectiveness of dog insurance, however. It’s been a ‘godsend’ apparently, says Mum, although I thought that I was the godsend. I’ve had the best of care, not that I don’t deserve it, and the vets and the specialist have all been marvellous. I’ve been the centre of attention, as usual, and it’s been great… except for the operation and the ultrasounds. I’m also giving the vet table a wide berth in the future, as bad things happen there, that’s for sure.

I will be back soon with news of my recovery.

Hellooooo fantastic fur-fans. Well I’m feeling lovely and primped and pampered today. I’ve just had a shampoo and a blowdry, and I just love my new doo. I’m smelling like the Ruby-Rosebud that Mum calls me.

I’ve had a lovely time in the holidays, enjoying meeting and greeting our guests and I’ve been out and about to visit my many fans recently. I had the pleasure of seeing Nan and Pop last week and enjoyed a sumptuous luncheon on the back patio. Of course I was privy to the most delectable tidbits that were coming my way.  I can highly recommend the chef.

I’m not really looking forward to going to the vet next month for my annual checkup and weigh-in. I suspect that I have put on a pound or two over the xmas break and I will be rationed once again in the near future.

Until next time fur-fans….

Helloooo to all my fur-fans, and a happy new year to you all!  I’ve been a bit quiet lately, not because I haven’t wanted to get out and about, but because Mum hasn’t taken me anywhere of note. A walk around the block occasionally and a sniff in the next yard does not warrant as a tour, that’s for sure.

I entertained a few guests over the Christmas break and I basked in the love and attention that I received. I have also been able to perfect my best ‘sad dog’ look to make the most of those tidbits and leftovers just hanging around after the festivities. Mum and I have put on so much weight, she is threatening me with exercise…again.

I’m looking forward to resuming my weekly tour of the island to cheer up all my fans who haven’t seen me for a while. The woman down the road was just complaining the other day that she hadn’t seen my beautiful face in weeks.

Until next time….Happy Pampered New Year to you all!

Helloooo my lovely fur-fans. What a delight it is to be here today! I’m really enjoying the summer season this year, as I tour the island and make new friends with the holiday makers along the beach. Nothing says friendly dog like a lovely bow, clipped nails and a wagging tail. I have also perfected my lovely smile, and it’s sure to draw admirers from near and far.

It was lovely to get down to the beach the other day to explore the sand and inspect the perimeters for suitable bathing. Mind you, I don’t like to get too wet, but my extremities certainly appreciate a paddle during the heat waves. I like an occasional  roll in the sand, but detest scratching myself to bits afterwards, trying to get every grain of sand out of my pampered doo.

This Christmas is looking exciting, as I have received news of the impending arrival of some rellies for the Christmas day bash! I’m expecting lots of presents and, of course, more than one nibbly on the day. I can’t wait!

Until next time…

Helloooo there fur-fans. It’s lovely to be here again this week. I haven’t been around for a couple of weeks as I’ve been helping out at home with mum when she came out of hospital. I did my best to make sure I was around to offer support. Recuperating on the bed was the place to be this season fur-fans. I got to sleep with Mum all day for a week and was on my best behaviour. It was a special week, I can tell you. I got to eat extra treats on the bed for being a good girl and not jumping around too much. Not that I would anyway, I’m a lady.

I’m looking forward to getting out and about again though. Summer is here and the beach is just around the corner. I can’t wait to sink my paws into the sand again. As long as somebody cleans me up afterwards of course.

Until next time.

Helloooo fur-fans. It’s great to be back once again, and reporting the latest news in my neck of the woods. I haven’t been touring the island as much as I would like to, and my fans are getting restless. Mum has been in hospital and I have been helping out a little around the house. It’s been wonderful to lay in bed with mum until late in the morning and sample some of the treats she has been getting with breakfast in bed. I try to get as close as I can to the food before Dad chases me off. He’s still hung up on that diet word that the vet mentioned last month, so apparently I’m still on rations.

Mum has been feeling sorry for herself ..so I try to be as sympathetic as I can, which can pay dividends in secret treats behind Dad’s back. He’s wondering why I’m not losing any weight. Mum is telling him it is because I haven’t been for a walk for a while as Mum has been confined to the house post-operatively. But we both know better.

I will be looking forward to the summer season, fur-fans, when I get to strut my stuff and my new summer wardrobe on the beach.

Until next time…

Helloooo fur-fans. It’s good to be back today and experiencing the fine weather we are having on the island of late. I’m out and about of course, meeting and greeting my fans on the island and doing the hard yards for the good of doggy-kind.

I’ve a sad tale to tell unfortunately. My visit to the vet last week has resulted on me being rationed in the kitchen. No treats or extras for me, unless I can sneak a few or look sorrowful at the fridge enough times.

The vet informed Mum that I was fat. FAT!..me!…I don’t think so. Mildly plump, a bit wide-bodied, a little roley-poley..but not straight-out fat. I resent the implication. I’m a little overfed and used to my luxurious surroundings fur-fans..but that’s what it is all about isn’t it? Aren’t I here to please myself and all who look upon me? I should jolly well think so.

Hellooo fur-fans!  I’ve had a lovely week and the weather has been positively wonderful for those out-and-about activities that I dream about. I’ve been touring the island once again to see all my fans and circulate before the summer festivities begin and the holidays start once again. Have to get my face out there so that people will know me and love me. I try to get out and about as much as I can in the tourist season. It does wonders for my ego to be patted and cooed over at least twice a day by a complete stranger.

I’ve been commandeering the front seat of Mum’s car as we tour the island to say hello to all my friends. I have to say that they are all very pleased to see me, as I haven’t been out as much this year as I would have liked. I’m planning on getting a lovely new doo in the next few weeks to befit my status as front seat navigator and greeter.

Helloooo fur-fans. Well, I’m really raving today. Raving about the rain and minimal opportunity to go out and about for my usual meeting and greeting tours of the island. It’s been boring, boring, boring, I can tell you. I’ve had nothing to do but lay around on the beds, the lounge, the sofa, the settee, and my plush lambskin.

I’m not one to get my paws wet, that’s for sure, so it’s been a major effort for Mum to get me down the stairs and into the dreaded drenching that ensues. I try to either make a quick dash for the top of the stairs or the carport. I hide as much as possible on wet days so Mum doesn’t remember that I need to go, and then sneak out the back and go on the veranda. Naughty yes, but necessary to survive the stress of getting my do all wet and smelly. A girl has to do what a girl has to do.

I can’t wait for summer and the new puppy fashion trends that are coming. How exciting!

I feel fabulous fur-fans…lovely and clean and smelling like the rose that I am. I was first in front of the mirror once I got home to inspect my new doo, and I have to say, I’m looking rather gorgeous!

It was a long day, and topped off with a yummy dinner of chicken and vegetables, all hand done of course. I was also lucky enough to have some afters for dessert, although my waistline could’ve used a break I guess.

It was a lovely day all round fur-fans, and I’ll be sure to be getting out and about in the next week as I tour the island to show off my new look.

Helloooo beautiful fur-fans! I’m back this week with news of my tour to the neighbours place to give my seal of approval for the back yard amenities and security. I was able to enjoy myself and inspect the yard for any discrepancies in the new locks and bolts on the gates. I can report that it is virtually impossible for a four legged fur-maiden of my stature to gain access to the road beyond the confines of my day-care facility. But who would want to escape? My carer loves to spoil me, and I’m allowed to play, laze on the sofa, and have treats anytime I want. It’s a day spa away from my home spa fur-fans…. and of course, all are privileged to have my company for the duration.

Helloooo my dear fur-fans. I’m back once again with news of my latest tour of the island in a frenzy of meeting and greeting once again for the winter season. I have to say I was looking really fancy in my hot pink puppy sweater and matching hoodie.  Mum went all out to find the nicest outfit in my favourite colour so I could look my best when out and about.

I was lucky enough to see some of my greatest fans last weekend down at the beach. Of course, I didn’t get my paws wet. I’m not much for swimming as it messes with my do, but I do enjoy the high spirits of running on the beach and a spot of digging in the sand when one feels the urge. It’s lovely to see my fellow fur-kids out and about enjoying all the weekend activities that my island home has to offer.

I can’t wait until Summer so I can test out my brand new next season wardrobe. Until next time fur-fans…

Hellooo lovely fur-fans. It’s wonderful to be here once again so you can enjoy the pleasure of my company. I’m just back from my tour of the island and a romp at the local reserve with a well-behaved Jack Russell. We had a lovely time and I discovered the delights of nature once more. I have to say I’m not one for all-terrain and back packing, but it was a pleasurable experience in the short-term.

I was a little worn out from the weekend as well, as I was busy entertaining guests. I was looking my absolute best and my manners were impeccable, as usual. I was also invited to the local Sunday markets, where I set about meeting and greeting my adoring fans and making new contacts for future reference. One never knows when one might come in handy.

Puppy de Paris label offers luxury for dogs

Wednesday, July 6th, 2011

PARIS — A three-story town house on Paris’ exclusive Place Vendome, with sumptuous interiors hung with plush red velvet and gilded chandeliers — it’s an address fit for a king.

Or his dog.

The property in question is actually a miniature poodle-sized replica of a tony Paris townhouse, handmade for discerning pooches with deep pockets and a taste for the finer things in life.

The 4-foot-tall dog house — complete with a canopy bed and velvet-lined drawers for storing Rex’s accessories — is the jewel in the crown of Puppy de Paris, a new luxury line crafted by French artisans.

Other offerings in the line by Karin Fainas include “Le Canape Place de la Madeleine,” a velvet bed painted with scenes from Parisian bakeries and fitted with lion’s paw feet in hand-cast silver, and a doggy bowl in gold-dipped bronze that looks more like a crown than something you’d fill with dog chow.

“I used to work in fine jewelry, and my clients would inevitably have little dogs in tote,” said Fainas, a 41-year-old with elegant features and close-cropped hair. “They were always telling me, ‘What about my dog? You should make beautiful things for him, he deserves them just as much as I do.’ ”

So Fainas set about doing just that… Story taken from… Detroit Free Press… read full story… http://www.freep.com/article/20110627/FEATURES01/106270309/Puppy-de-Paris-label-offers-luxury-dogs?odyssey=mod|newswell|text|FRONTPAGE|s

Helloooo fur-fans! What a lovely day it is today! I’m feeling rather special as I prance around the house in my new do. Dad has purchased some simply devine luxury doggy bath soap…all natural of course, with hints of lavender and tee tree oils. It lathers up wonderfully and leaves me feeling soft and fluffy..which is the best way for a pampered Bichon girl like myself to be.

There’s nothing like all natural hand-made soaps to make a girl feel pretty, and smell better than a perfumery. I had a hand in the selection and quality, of course, and I gave it the paws up for lather, anti-sting and ease of blow drying afterwards. I can’t say that I’m overly rapt in the process, but I am rapt in the accolades that I have received from my fans in the last few days. I’ve had more photo shoots than I can possibly mention here.

Take my advice fur-fans…and check out all the natural dog soap options available to you. These products should be available at all good and environmentally friendly puppy stores.

Hellooo to all my fur-fans out there once again. It’s lovely to be here and it’s lovely to be home once again after my tour of the mainland and my local neighbourhood. I’ve been enjoying my nice sheep-skin rug by the fire for the last few days, and I’m loath to move about, even to go outside in the freezing cold for my abolutions. Mum’s thinking about investing in some doggy booties, as my delicate disposition calls for desperate measures when it comes to keeping one’s feet nice and dry on the cold and icy grass. I’ve taken to sticking to the concrete for all my daily doos, and it’s not going down too well with the fur-less residents of the household, I can tell you. I honestly don’t know what the problem is really, I’m happy and dry, and I do my business out of sight so that nobody can see.  I’m probably too careful though fur-fans, as I believe that it’s the ones my human counterparts can’t see that get stepped in.

I hope that my booties arrive soon so that we can all settle down and get down to business.

Helloooo dear fur-fans. Well, I’ve been out and about recently, not only doing a tour of my island, but of another island. I’ve been taking in the sights and sounds of Stradbroke island, fur-fans, and I have to say that I enjoyed myself immensely. The drive was fabulous, of course, and I didn’t miss a moment as I caught the breeze out the window and waved to my adoring fans as I went by. The barge trip over was lovely, and Mum provided me with snacks and refreshments on the journey. I was ready to see the sights and meet and greet, I can tell you!  The island was a lovely adventure and we were able to alight from the vehicle to do a bit of sniff-exploration of the area. I found a lovely spot for my abolutions in a park near the shops at Dunwich. Then we were off to the holiday accommodation and the meeting and greeting of guests.

I have to say fur-fans, that while the party atmosphere may be congruent for human activity and entertainment, it was not so congruent to my delicate disposition. I spent the evening trying to find a nice quite spot to hide from all the shananigans until it died down. I found a lovely spot on somebody’s bed and hid under the bedcovers until I was discovered.

Although I was on my best behaviour, my nerves were raw, and I proceeded to bark nervously at any passers by while Mum was trying to sleep. Needless to say, nobody got any sleep that night, including me.

The following day we were off on another adventure around the island, and I redeemed myself once again by being the perfect lady, waving goodbye to new friends and finding new fans along the way.

It was very good to be home once again fur-fans, I am certain I must have slept for over 12 hours, and almost missed the dinner bell.

Helloooo there fur-fans. It’s good to be here again this week with news of my latest tour of the island in my newest winter accessories. I have recently acquired a rather nice pink puppy parka, which fits me rather snuggly around my torso and keeps me warm. I’ve been doing the rounds of the local island parks and beaches showing off my trendy ‘threads’, meeting and greeting my adoring fans as I go.  I had a lovely day sniffing around the local beaches yesterday, all the while being kept warm and snug in my ‘princess’ jacket. While I would have preferred my ‘hoodie’ jacket, I couldn’t complain about the winter wind’s chill at all. I was at it for hours before I had to climb in the car and go home. It was also lovely to hang out the window and ‘wave’ to my fans once again for the journey.

It is fair to say that I can stamp my paw of approval on this season’s doggy and doggette winter ranges at your nearest online outlets.

Mum has found a lovely new bath soap, all natural, for my abolutions, from the local markets. It’s made from eucalyptus, tea tree and lavender, and it smells devine. My coat is soft and fluffy, and my delicate skin is not irritated as it is with other so-called doggy shampoos.  So don’t forget fur-fans, for a lovely bath experience, think all natural soaps. They’re available from all good doggy shops online, and some natural makers at your local markets.

I particularly like the front passenger seat in my co-driving capacity, and I’m loath to give it up when ‘somebody’ wants to sit there.

Admittedly, I’d like something a little more upmarket for my mainland touring fur-fans, like a BMW…but alas, I will have to wait for that pleasure for a while longer, and put up with the old family sedan for the time being.

Hellooo fur-fans.  Well I’ve toured the island once again this week, meeting and greeting my many admirers, and I have to say… I’m all worn out from the adoration, fur-fans.

I love to get out and about in Mum’s car and go visiting the neighbours, who just think I’m the bees knees, you know.  I even put up with the most annoying Angus, to keep up appearances of grace and good manners in all situations.  Being offered a snack and something to drink at the best places on the island is also a good incentive to be on one’s best behaviour. I can’t understand why Angus, who runs around madly peeing on the potplants, should even warrant a pat…but I guess there’s no accounting for taste, is there?

I’m looking forward to my next week’s visit to poppy’s place to inspect the new gardens and fencing arrangement. I hope it will be suitable for my abolutions and recreation, fur fans. I simply hate it when I get my feet wet or dirty when appropriate steps haven’t been taken to ensure that there’s enough paving or concrete in the great outdoors.

Helloooo my lovely fur-fans. It’s great to be here today, after my tour of the mainland and poppy’s  place to give my seal of approval for the new fence and surrounds. I must say, the new fence looks a treat and the gardens immaculate for my abolutions.  It’s nice to be able to stroll around and enjoy the peace and quiet in a lovely garden with the birdsong in the background. I’m not given to chasing the birds, mind you, as I’m a lady you know – but every once in a while my instincts kick in and I disgrace myself and my gender by displaying those ‘loath to be had’ hunting instincts that my predecessors were so famous for.

Along with that….I’m resisting the urge to dig in the rather lovely and fine dirt around the perimeters near the fence, as my washed and primped white fur will be compromised. A short roll or two tends to satisfy me these days, as I head back to poppy’s ‘day lounge’ for a spot of napping. It would never do to lay on the day lounge when one is looking a bit shabby, it would spoil my image with the new neighbours at poppy’s place.

Helloooo again devoted fur-fans.  I’m back today, and barely awake after a disturbed night’s sleep putting up with a bunch of crazed Curlews running around screeching all night. For the uninitiated, Curlews are a medium sized bird seen frequently on the island that I reside on, and the surrounds. They can fly, and do, but much prefer to get about on the ground and stand about like statues most of the time when being observed.

I’m all for preserving wildlife fur-fans, but one gets a little agitated by the loud screeching made by these feathered funsters, all night long. It is preferrable having them screech from a distance than right under your bedroom window at night in a group, as they often do.  Mum seems to be able to sleep through their manic cries most of the time, but she soon wakes up when I bark from a good vantage point close to her ear. Why should I be the only one on night patrol?  Oh, the hardships I suffer from doing my doggy duty and trying to maintain an air of graciousness.

Helloooo again fur-fans. Well I’ve been touring the neighbourhood again on my regular meet and greet missions, and I’ve been refining my furball etiquette when one is outdoors. Should one just pee for the sake of it, or should one be discerning about where one does one’s business?

I for one would prefer the privacy of my own yard, but if I must do it in public, then I tend to choose only the best front grasses for my delicate feet and nether regions. I must say there is certainly a difference in the way that people keep their lawns, and I’m becoming quite adept in finding the best of the best. If I had my way…the world would be full of perfectly manicured lawns with lots of concrete for those wet days, and plenty of shade and shelter so one doesn’t get wet when performing abolutions.  Mum’s not terribly impressed having to clean the concrete, but I would rather be dry and comfortable than have wet grass poking at me from every direction. Wouldn’t you?

Until next time…

Helloooo fur-fans. Well..I’ve been doing it tough the last few days, and have been forced to forgo the tasty nibblies and walk around the block a few times. Horrors, fur-fans…I actually have to exercise to lose a pound or two off my lovely curves. I wouldn’t have thought I needed the aggravation of a daily regime, but my vet thinks so….so here I am fur-fans….literally chained to a collar and pounding the pavement with my fellow fitness freaks in the afternoon sun.  The only possible light at the end of the tunnel is a small token offering of a small boney treat when I get home, low fat of course. This is for my teeth, they tell me….

My only consolation is that I may well fit into last season’s wardrobe and be feeling quite chic again in no time at all.

Hellooo dear fur-fans. Well, I’m up to my primped little neck in lovely new fashion wear for the year, and I have to say I’m looking pretty special when I’m out and about, especially on the beach in this season’s latest.

The Pets Palace is a one stop shop online for all of my fashion needs, but there are a multitude of outlets and avenues online for that discerning pet in all parts of the globe. I’ve discovered some lovely items from designer beds to doggy spa retreats at the press of a paw on the mouse. The internet is a marvellous place when one knows what to look for.

My Pets Wardrobe is another smart contributor to the pet fashion scene, and I have to say that I loved the Sweetie Pie dress for those special occasions meeting and greeting the rellies.

Helloooo fur-fans. I’m back this year with news of the latest looks and beach wear for those more discerning K9’s amongst us, myself included. I’ve seen doggy life jackets in my fave colour of pink, along with Pet Pop bottled water, K9 Optix Dog sunglasses (in pink of course), and doggie walkie belts. All reasonably priced and quite fashionable as the season hots up and the best days of the beach are ahead of us here in Brisbane, Australia.

I’ve found a delectable site boasting all of the above, and more!…Go have a peek and feast your eyes on the ‘Summer Essentials’ pages now…!  http://www.petspalace.com.au/index.shtml

Helloooo fur-fans. Well, I’m back and high and dry after the recent rains. I’ve been keeping my paws well and truly dry and staying inside. It’s been absolutely awful being pushed down the front steps to go for a wee, fur-fans. I’m sure that I could’ve found a much dryer area for my abolutions.

I’ve been out and about for plenty of walks in the sunshine, and I’m once again meeting my social obligations and doing my bit to enhance ‘cute dog relations’ for the good of society.

I have to say that the weather has turned a tad hotter than I expected, and at times I have had to retreat to the luxury of my airconditioned house and recouperate on the lounge until my next engagement. Happily, I have met my social quota for the week, and won’t be expected to leave my comfortable arrangements to meet any social engagements for the next few days.

In following weeks I will be visiting all sorts of lovely doggy websites and reporting on new fashions and tidbits from all over fur-fans, so stayed tuned and pampered until next time…

Hellooo fur-fans. Well, the weather is foul and I’m not happy about it!  I refuse to go outside and get my delicate paws wet. Even the concrete is uncomfortable and damp for my ministrations, and I must protest to anybody who will lend a sympathetic ear to my plight.

I must insist that it stop raining immediately, so I can stop that dreadful moisture from not only affecting my brand new do, but my whole daily routine.

I’m not one to venture outside when I don’t have to, but even the most pampered pooch must go outside occasionally to poop, and I’m not happy with being pushed bodily down the stairs in monsoonal conditions. Yes monsoonal fur-fans!  It’s blowing a gale out there. I look like the flying nun as I try to negotiate the wet terrain with my ears up over my head. It’s not a pretty sight, I can tell you!

One can only hope that somebody sees some sense soon and stops all the madness, with peace and sunshine returning to reign once again.

Hellooo fur-fans. I’ve been entertaining guests the last couple of days and I’m exhausted! You’ve no idea how much effort goes into meeting and greeting and making oneself available for lap duty and pats. I’m sure everyone enjoyed my company immensely, and I enjoyed the extra attention and treats that came my way. So much for my resolve to eat less and lose weight, or was that Mum’s resolve for me, I won’t go into it.

I’m looking forward to Dad’s return next week, as he has been away working. Dad’s a better cook than Mum, so I’m guaranteed some delicious gourmet morsels on my plate every other day. The potential for extra human attention is paramount.

I’ve found a charming little website for all my fashion needs fur-fans. It’s a real Australian gem and the Flutterby dress is just devine…and really me! They have everything from t-shirts to tuxedos, day wear and night wear..you name it. Go visit the site today!… http://www.mypetswardrobe.com.au/

Helloooo fur-fans. It’s good to be here for another fresh new year, after my tour of grandpa’s place over the silly season, and my trip to the vets once again.

I am pleased to say that I have a clean bill of health, although I’m told that I’m ever so slightly overweight, and will probably need to go easy on the treats in the future. I’m a bit disappointed about that, but I will try to manage to put on a brave face, and my other heartbroken and pathetic face when there’s a treat opportunity in my immediate vicinity.

I enjoyed my tour of grandpa’s place and I helped grandpa with his naps on the lounge. I was careful not to disturb him, and this meant laying as still as possible and pretending to be asleep. It was a lovely two hours until I was ousted by grandpa who had to get up.

I will be back this year reporting news of the latest fashions, gossip and fur-ball fun and games, for your entertainment.

Helloooo fur-fans. I’ve had a lovely time over the Christmas break, meeting and greeting and sampling all the lovely tidbits that my sympathisers passed my way.

I think I had way too much of everything, but I just couldn’t help myself. Everything was sooo delicious fur-fans. I’m sorry to say that I may have attracted a few pounds to my hips and thighs, and will be visiting the doggy fat farm very soon. Mum’s got me walking around the block and down to the beach.

I would rather watch an exercise video on the couch than actually participate fur-fans. Who do they think I am? A Greyhound? Certainly not! I’m made for pampering and patting, not running after rabbits in a circle.

I’m booked in next week to visit my practitioner, aka the vet, and I’m cringing at some of those words he is going to use. Wide bodied, overweight, exercise, dry food, and worst of all…diet. It’s Mum’s fault, and she should be spoken to firmly, I say. I can’t help it if I can’t stop at one, two or three.

I daren’t step outside too much fur-fans, lest I get dirty paws from the recent rains, or even worse, my new do drenched before I even get there. There’s a lot of effort going into staying clean, I can tell you, but one must do what one has to do to keep up appearances.

The new bathroom looks great, but I’m a bit disappointed that I’m not allowed into the spa bath to luxuriate in the manner that I’d like to become accustomed to. Mum’s making it up to me though by treating me to a makeover groom this week, to be primped and pampered in preparation for the holiday season.

I’ve found a delectable website for all your doggy accessory needs this Christmas. Helloooo fur-fans. It’s lovely to be here again as the silly season approaches. I’m getting excited as I count the days until we go to poppy’s place for a Christmas lunch with all the trimmings. Nanna is cooking the family a sumptuous chicken dinner, and I am included on the guest list, of course.

I’m looking forward to being groomed to perfection as the big day approaches, as I must look my best when I’m meeting and greeting the relatives throughout the day.

A must do for Mum every Christmas is to include me in all the arrangements, and the shopping.  There are plenty of options available online and in pet shops for those lovely last minute gifts for the pampered pet in your life. My prediction is that colourful puppy t-shirts, hats and accessories are going to be popular this summer for those discerning owners that are concerned about not only their fur-kid’s appearance, but their sun-safety as well.

So let your mouse do the walking this season and get online for that fabulous Christmas gift for your much-loved fur-kid.  Have a lovely Christmas fur-fans, and a furry happy new year!!!

Helloooo once again fur-fans. It’s good to be here with you all. Well, fur-fans, it’s the silly season again, and my Mum is still suffering the bathroom renovations while trying to plan ahead for the family gathering at pop’s place for the Christmas day festivities.

I’m really quite excited about it all. I get to visit the rellies and practice my impeccable social skills, meet and greet everybody I know, enjoy a sumptuous chicken lunch with my family, and if I’m really lucky – a special Christmas treat AND after lunch sweeties.

I’ve been dazzled by the array and variety of Christmas lights and decorations that abound in my street this year fur-fans, and there seems to be some kind of competition up the other end, where the lights are blazing and there’s more colours and sparkle than Santa’s toy factory on Christmas Eve.

I can’t say that I’m overly impressed with Mum’s efforts to decorate our front yard in the style that befits my status, and in keeping with keeping up with the Jones’s up the road. All we have is a few solar lanterns and a plastic dragonfly light that changes colour. I’m hoping for more of a look-in next year’s competition once the renovations are out of the way and Mum is relaxed enough to consider the prospect of good old fashioned competitiveness and ‘winner takes all’ light display for next season.

Ah well…there’s always next time fur-fans…

Helloooo fur-fans. It’s good to be here today, as I meet and greet the workers coming and going during the renovation. Yes, the renovation is still happening, but it’s nearing completion now, and I’ve discovered a new social outlet to show off my best manners to anybody who will look my way.

It’s been exhausting fur-fans, and I’m almost certainly due for a bath and a new do, as my lovely white fur is a little grey from the dust and grime of the renovations. I will certainly be pleased when it is over, and I can get back to being pampered and primped and fussed over once again. It’s quite a bore to be placed on the veranda and ignored for part of the day, without the luxury of my day bed to console me.

I’ve been promised a chicken dinner tonight however, and I’m looking forward to relaxing in my favourite chair this evening with Mum  for some after-dinner pampering and patting.

Hellooo fur-fans. I’m spending the day with Mum as we escape the dreadful renovations and the dust for a park and beach adventure. I’m enjoying the sights and the smells fur-fans…as I socialise with the locals and meet and greet, as I keep up appearances with good grace and dignity. Heaven knows I don’t want anybody coming back to my place at the moment – it’s a shambles and hardly the place to entertain, so I must make do with a personal tour and waving to my fans out the window of the car, until the dust settles and my housekeeper has cleaned up afterwards. I shall be glad to be sleeping once again in my featherdown, in a dust and workman free zone!

Hellooo fur-fans. It’s good to be here once again. I’m enjoying the weather here on the island, and it was another great day at the beach. I was careful not to get my paws wet, but a frolick in the sand is more than adequate in my fitness regime. I’m loath to go running around too much, as it’s against my nature. Just a gentle jog along the sand and a lovely nap on my day bed will suit me nicely.

Sadly the renovation is still ongoing and the dust is just awful. It’s getting in my lovely soft new do, and up my nose. I will be glad when it’s over and I can enjoy peace and harmony once again in my corner of the world – as it should be. A girl of my delicate nature is used to the finer things in life, not the dreadful banging and hammering that jangles my nerves.

Anyway, it’s time for my chicken dinner fur-fans. Until next time…

Hellooo to all my fur-fans from the island. Well, we are busy doing bathroom renovations here at home, and I can’t say that I’m enjoying it at the moment. There’s dust and noise everywhere, and nobody is paying any attention to me at all. I’m lucky to get a pat and a rub at the end of the day, although I still get to sleep on the bed at night and my meals are satisfactory, so one must not complain too much.

I’ve been told to expect a new luxury bathroom, complete with top of the range spa bath and all the mod-cons. I’m looking forward to seeing the finished product, although I’m not sure I will be allowed to swim around in the spa – although I should be fur-fans…all the top doggy resorts have them, and would suit my standing in the community. Horror of horrors fur-fans, Mum and Dad are renovating the bathroom, and there are all manner of bad smells, noise and dust getting into my finely styled hairdo – so it’s good to get out into the fresh air and away from manic workmen who don’t appreciate how truly wonderful I am. I’m used to the finer things in life and that would include getting the most attention out of my humans as I can possibly muster. I can certainly cross off the bathroom renovation people off my christmas list this year.

I’m looking forward to my holiday with Mum, as Dad is painting and renovating, and doesn’t want us all underfoot for the duration of the exercise. I have to say, I’m a bit cooler now that the weather is warming up, and I’ve noticed a few of my fine furred friends have had a close shave or two as well.  Perhaps I won’t be the only one on the beach this season hiding behind the nearest sand dune.

Horror of horrors fur-fans…I’m looking a tad naked and de-furred…with absolutely no style at all and no bow in my once beautiful white curls to speak of.

Suffice it to say fur-fans, I won’t be going for my weekly jaunte to the beach until I’m looking a little more respectable, and my social outings will be limited to attending familiar family functions where I’m sure no one will laugh at me.  OMG fur-fans….it’s back to my groomer next time.

As I like to make a good impression and a good entrance, I’ve opted for some lovely Alloveen puppy shampoo for those of us that love to smell good, and have sensitive skin as well. Mum’s been using Alloveen for a while now, and I must say that my skin feels good, with no nasty dryness or rashes, and my fur is soft and easy to manage.

While I don’t enjoy the bath terribly, I DO enjoy the attention AND the accolades that I get when the job’s done. I’m the star of the show you know, I put a lot of effort in standing there patiently while the attendant tries to improve on my perfection. Until next time fur-fans..

Hellooo fur fans. Lovely to be here today. Lovely to be indoors today too, with all the wild weather about recently. I’ve been holed up on my lambskin on the lounge today, watching the weather out the window. What’s a girl to do when the grass is too cold and wet to go out to pee? I’m not partial to cold tootsies, I can tell you, and it takes a good deal of effort, and courage, to get motivated enough to remove myself from my luxurious bedding and brace myself in the elements. Who said running around digging and romping was a great doggy past-time? I can assure you, my favourite past-time has nothing to do with romping, and is all about the best indoor comforts that are on offer this season, and tasty nibblies.

I’ve been privy to the latest in doggy beds this season fur-fans, and there are more beds on offer than I can get my paws on. While I’m happy with my sumptuous surrounds…the White Crown Wrought Iron bed with matching feeder is definitely me fur-fans…take a look..http://www.dogstobed.com.au/

Hellooo fur-fans. It’s good to be here again.

I’m keeping a low profile today, as it’s raining cats and big dogs outside and I don’t want to get my paws and new doo wet. It’s tough when you are a high-maintenance girl, when you get those tootsies wet and wind up with cold wet feet. You just can’t get comfortable again until some kind soul takes pity and towel dries your extremities. I would prefer the newspaper job indoors on wet days, but apparently I’m getting too old for that, and I must be a ‘big girl’ and go outside. Pooh Pooh to that I say, I’m a smart girl, and I would much prefer to pee in comfort than to pee in the rain and get my bottom wet on the cold grass.

Getting out to the back veranda to find the newspapers and pee with discretion, takes a good deal of stealth, but it can be achieved when Angus creates his own waterworks diversions and everyone goes to see…except me of course..

I’ve done my homework this year fur-fans, and I can honestly say that the trend is bright and floral, with plenty of puppy zinc and designer doggy hats for the dog who wants to be out and about, but doesn’t want to experience the discomfort of sunburn. Particularly important for the fairer skinned amongst us, hats and sunglasses make an excellent accessory to get that look right when stepping out on the sand.

They haven’t forgotten those of us that are on the short side either. Matching puppy carry harnesses and carry-all bags to accommodate even the fussiest of four-legged fashion fanatics. I’m positively bristling with anticipation for my debut next week, sporting my latest purchase.

They probably would have been delicious, but I have to consider my waist-line you know…or rather, consider what Mum will do to me if she catches me having an opportunistic snack – my vet has told her that  I have become a  little wide-bodied of late, and must have frequent walks instead of frequent lounge naps.

I mingled with adults and children alike today, and I was in my element. I’m a great socialiser with impeccable manners. I’d like to be invited back for future family events if I get the opportunity. Taking my time to take in the smells can be delightful, as long as one doesn’t get carried away and puts one’s nose too far into the sand and can’t get it out. The sand, that is. It’s lovely to be as one with the wind and the water and channel my chi for once, away from the stress of patrolling the veranda and deciding which lounge to lay on in my break time. Yes fur-fans, ‘Diva Dogs: A Style Guide to Living the Fabulous Life’ , by Jo Jo Harder – is the ultimate ‘look-see’ at the pampered lives of those fur-kids of the rich and richer…I’ve been ‘pawing’ over the pages and it’s got me in a tizz. I can’t decide whether I would like my caviar in the morning, or just wait until my posh puppy party and indulge my taste buds. Oh..why don’t I just have caviar ALL the time and save making decisions?

Until next time….

Hellooo fur-fans. I’m back with exciting news..for me anyway. Mum has bought a luxury king size bed with comfort pillow top, and I have to tell you, it’s devine. I had my first night’s sleep on it last night, and ended up going from Mum’s feet to Mum’s pillow by early morning – I was in heaven! There’s so much room! Mind you, I was quickly relocated to a different position, much to my disgust. Mum says that I’m free to explore the perimeters of the king size mammoth, but the head section is off limits, no matter how many baths I have.  I will just have to settle for the lambskin atop of the pillow topped king size bed…sigh.

Back next week after my visit to Nan and Pop’s…

Hellooo fur-fans. It’s good to be here once again. I’ve just returned from a trip up the road and a drive in the car. Honestly, I feel like a princess in the front co-pilot seat, as I survey the passing landscape and anybody who looks my way. I’m so cute, people can’t help coming up to the window of the car when we have stopped, to say hello to me.

Mum’s got me one of those new car harnesses that I have to wear now when I am driving in the car. I feel very grown up with it on. Mum has even managed to get it in a lovely shade that I adore – pink. I’m hoping for some more driving accessories in the future. I have seen some lovely sunglasses with matching hats on the internet – they are all the thing fur-fans.

Until next time…

Hellooo fur-fans. I hope you are all doing as well as me after my recent trip to the doggy massage centre, followed by nail trim and a sweet doggy treat. Admittedly I was so relaxed after my massage, I didn’t need the treat, but my tastebuds appreciated the input. Yes fur-fans, doggy massages do exist, and I thank god every day that my Mum is a new age sensitive fur-kid owner, who appreciates that we go through anxiety and stress in the fur-world too, which can be alleviated in the same manner as our human counterparts do. Yes..massage is the way of the future for all those tired and aching fur-muscles. I can assure you of the benefits of massage for any fur-kid that may be in need of relaxation and anxiety relief.

Yes fur-fans, at last, recognition for those stress busting techniques for not only our humans, but our fur friends too. Massage for fur-kids has many benefits, including stress and anxiety relief, relief from arthritis, toxin removal and increased circulation. Get your human to try you out on it now, and get ready for a sensational treat and a great feeling of wellbeing!

Hellooo fur-fans. I had a little accident last night and mananaged to get myself in a great deal of trouble over a wet set of sheets and pillow. Honestly, I didn’t mean to do it, I just got a bit excited at the prospect of sleeping on the new silk sheets that Mum bought from overseas.

So I spent the night in the laundry on my bed on the floor. Really! A fur-girl of my standing put in the laundry on a large plumped up mattress with paw-print blanket. I don’t know how I got by all night and survived!

I let them have it at around 2am because I couldn’t take it anymore. Doesn’t anybody care about me? I howled my head off and scratched desperately at the door for almost half an hour before anybody noticed, and then it was only to tell me to be quiet…and STILL not to be allowed back onto my soft warm bed.

Oh, the relief when I was finally let out this morning into Dad’s arms. I promptly made my way into the loungeroom and snuggled up on the lounge in the sun. It was good to be back fur-fans, I can tell you! My first night in the laundry will be my last!

Hellooo fur-fans. I’m back from my whirlwind tour of the groomers, and I can say that it was a truly wonderful experience, as expected, and as I deserve. I have once again been pampered, primped and puffed up with the sweet aromas of my luxury bath, blow dry, perfume and pedicure session.

I’m more than pleased with my ‘star treatment’, and would love to gossip about my lovely groomer, but I’m sworn to secrecy. All the most discerning fur-stars can be seen coming and going, if one looks carefully enough, and their privacy, and mine of course, must be protected. But I’m more than happy to spread any juicy tidbits that pass to my delicate ears, from time to time. For example, a certain poodle from a certain well-heeled neighbourhood is almost totally bald! You wouldn’t believe it! They’ve done a fabulous job!

Until my next instalment, fur-fans xxxx ….

Hellooo fur-fans. I’m back with the latest news on doggy Winter fashion for those loving fur Mums and Dads that want to give their fur-babies the best for the colder months. Mum has just come back from a trip away with the most awesome accessories for our trip to the colder climates next year. She’s thinking ahead and anticipating those colder nights and temperature shocks that we might experience. I’ve had my viewing and fitting to make sure that the product looks and behaves to my liking, and I must admit, I do look chic while remaining comfortable, and having the added bonus of a heated jacket if the weather warrants it.  Yes fur-fans, a stylish heated jacket! What more could an up to the minute fur-fashion slave want? Mum’s even managed to arrange matching moccasins for those cold evenings  when you simply must ‘go’ .outside..but don’t want to get those paws cold and wet. Fabulous!

Til next time fur-fans…

Hellooo fur-fans, I’m back with news of my next grooming session. I’m really quite excited, as I have been looking a little untidy, and we are trying out my old groomer again. I’m happy to go back to those familiar surrounds with the airconditoning and the soothing smells of lavender and rose permeating the air around me. I even get to relax in my own pink bed as I wait my turn in the warm tub. I can’t say I’m overly fond of water, fur-fans, but one must do what one must do to be clean and presentable, and the warm water is really quite relaxing if you get a massage at the same time.

Until next time….

Hellooo fur-fans. Good to be here. I’m up late this evening watching one of my favourite shows on television. I have to say I just LOVE Cesar Milan! He’s my 10th favourite human…after Mum, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa and my other fur-less family. I know he loves his puppies very much, and he knows what they want. He doesn’t need to come here though, because I’m  thoroughly good girl! I’m here to tell Cesar that I behave myself and try not to bark too much and I have good table manners too.  I don’t growl or bite or get in bad moods. Except when I growl at Angus when he teases me. And I’m toilet trained too….not like Angus, who still thinks the dining chairs are trees in the park. I behave on my lead when we go for walks, and I always come when I am called if we get to run around on the beach.  I AM such a good girl. So no need for Cesar to come here to see me…no need at all.

Now…if I can just hide that chewed up sandle under the lounge before Mum sees it.

Helloo fur-fans. I’m back once again with some timely advice for those of us that can appreciate a good pedicure every now and again. In my case a good pedicure and polish with some lovely nail colourings that are now available for the more discerning dogettes amongst us. Hot pink is definitely a favourite this season, closely followed by flaming red, for the more racy individual. I have heard rumours on the doggy well-to-do grapvine that there is a lovely new product available for puppy pedicures, and you can simply have your nails sanded away, rather than that messy and often painful procedure they call clipping. The product is called a ‘nail grinder’ and there is no danger of over-cutting my nails, or leaving nasty jagged unslightly looking finishes. The procedure is safe for all. You can read more, fur-fans, when you click on the link below. I for one will be grateful when Mum gets the message and puchases one with my next spa treatment…

Helloo fur-fans. Ruby Rose here with some hot gossip on the latest in Beijing. The pet shop business is positively booming at the moment in China, with wealthy Chinese clients treating their fur-babies to everything from rose-petal baths to doggy massages. I’ve heard whispers that the latest in doggy fashion for the upmarket fur-citizen is hair dyeing. You can have anything done in your doo from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle theme to a tiger…and more!  Personally, fur-fans, I’m quite happy with my lovely doo and my fashionable look, but I could go for some lovely pink bangs around my ears on occasion when I’m out and about.  Read more, fur-fans…

Helloo there fur-fans and supporters. Ruby Rose reporting from California on the latest doggy event to end all events…the world’s Ugliest Dog Contest!  More than 25 dogs will be participating, fur-fans, and of course, I’m NOT one of them. I’m far too fashionable and utterly georgeous to even consider such an undertaking. But apparently, fur-fans, it’s bigger than ever this year with more celebrities out and about than you can ‘throw a stick’ at. I’m just bursting with excitement, there’ll be fun and prizes galore for the lucky contestants…who, of course are just as special as me…even if they aren’t so button cute.  Read more….

Helloo fur-fans. It’s lovely to be back again in my new Winter attire. I’m feeling very funky, yet chic, in my red and black – with bling – jacket for the colder months. Yes fur-folks, I know it’s Queensland in Austalia, but we do feel the cold at times, even here.

I’m looking forward to perusing next season’s Winter apparel for the upmarket fur-babe – as we may be doing a little holidaying in the southern states in 12 months time, and I want to be prepared for anything. It’s surprising what one can pick up online with plastic these days. I look forward to reporting on my new wardrobe in the near future. Until next time…

Hello once again fur-fans. I’ve been helping Mum clean the house today, and I’ve been allowed into the spare bedroom to explore the delights of haberdashery and holland blinds. Although I’m not a cat, I do like to explore my options in regards to sniffing and climbing when the mood suits. I’ve learned that if you can get those curtains low enough, they make a suitable hidey-hole from Angus and his dirty garden paws. I somehow managed to get those curtains a bit too low today and pull the whole lot down on myself and Mum. For once it’s not just Angus in the doghouse. I’m currently exploring my options under the doggy self-preservation act while hiding out under the computer desk.

Helloo fur-fans. I’m feeling sensational with my new parker with hoodie for those recent cold days in Brisbane. I’m not one for getting my paws wet either, so it was wonderful to wear the latest in doggy fashion shoes – two pairs of pink faux leather with silver trims. Mum can order all sorts of doggy items for me at any online shop that suits my fancy. It’s a pity that I don’t have a doggy credit card, or I would go crazy! Check out one of my favourite online shops…

Hello fur-fans. I’m back from my tour of the city sights and the park delights. What a lovely time I had. My day started well, with a drive into Brisbane city centre, and then off to the Botanical Gardens for some sight seeing. There’s some great places to go for the aspiring dog walker out there. You just need to ‘google’ it all to get your local council details of doggy friendly places and parks. The only black spot on my day was Angus, who was the black spot after he dived into the pond and made a fur fruit ball out of himself. I was lucky to escape with only a small piece of mud on my tail. Consequently we missed out on afternoon nibblies because we had to go home to clean up. I’m still not talking to the fur fool.

Hello fur-fans. I’m back from the groomers, and I feel devine! I’ve been primped and puffed with the most sumptuous lotions and smells you can imagine. Who would have thought that the doggy beauty market would be so popular? But it is, fur-folks, and I just can wait to get my pretty pink paws back to Zeon, my stylist, for my next monthly ‘do.’ There’s plenty of up-market doggy stylists out there for the more discerning fur-kid. Don’t settle for inferior quality products either. There are plenty of fur-kid friendly shampoos and conditioners out there to satisfy even the most delicate skin, like mine. I’m off now for my evening nap. I’ve had quite a big day. Til next time.

Hellooo fur-fans. I haven’t posted for a while as I’ve been on holidays. Yes…Mum took us on a doggy holiday after scanning the adverts and websites for dog friendly accommodation. I’m pleased to report that there are some astute folks out there that realise that fur-kids are family members too and they are much more likely to score more holiday dollars if they include them in their holiday deals. And what a deal I got! A lovely house near the beach with some great views, holiday chicken dinners, and a special walk along the beach in the mornings and the afternoons. I was reluctant to take a dip, but I didn’t mind getting that lovely sand between my paws and in my hair. I expect that I will be going to the groomers any day now for a new do and some nail polish. I’m quite exhausted really.

Don’t forget fur-fans. A fabulous doggy holiday is only a mouse click away. There are plenty of places to go for the dog that has everything, including a wonderful owner that wants to INCLUDE their best fur-friend in their next adventure.

Hello once again fur-fans. I’ve been doing a bit of reading lately (Mum reads, I listen) and I have discovered that the pet industry is positively booming, regardless of the recession. More Mum’s and Dad’s than ever are spending up on their companions, from pet supplies and medicines to clothes and special treats like spas, exercise routines and restuarant access. And why not? I for one am delighted that we are finally being recognised and pampered as we should be, not that I can complain of course.  Read more….

Hello fur-fans.  I hope you have survived the Easter break with no unruly two-legged urban terrorists pulling at your sensitive parts. Unlike myself, who have just come out of hiding after the hair dye incident. Mum has been trying to wash the yellow and pink stripes off me all weekend. It’s all the rage, they said as they mixed up food colouring and plonked it on me. There was more food colouring on them than on myself, I can tell you fellow fur-sufferers.

Oh the shame of facing that snooty maltese down the road before my next grooming.

Hello to all my fur-fans. I would like to talk about fur-kid stress. Not for myself of course, I’m fine since that kid up the road moved house and the cat got neutered. But let me tell you…I was a stress fur-ball. I have discovered a few techniques that may help you pull those claws back in and lower your hackles once again.

  • Stay calm – not us, Mum and Dad….does wonders for the atmosphere.
  • Lavender – the cure all calmer in a diffuser may help us, especially when excited and travelling.
  • Rescue Remedy – can you believe it? Apparently safe to use for dogs as well.
  • Exercise – as a couch potato, not one of my personal favourites, but getting out and about with Mum and Dad is guaranteed to relax and reduce stress. Unless you are out with Angus J of course.
